My mother-in-law makes this simple cheese sauce for broccoli and cauliflower. I like how quick and easy it is, and it's tasty as well.
Ingredients:
1 T butter
1T flour
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded cheddar
Directions:
- Melt the butter in a small pan, and whisk in the flour to make a roux.
- Stir in the milk and cook over low heat until the mixture begins to thicken.
- Add in the shredded cheese and continue stirring until the cheese melts and the sauce is a nice consistency.
- The recipe is easily doubled for larger amounts of vegetables.
